The Far Out Short Film Festival Write-Up
Far Out Friends,
Congratulations and a big thank you to everyone who came and entered into the Far Out Short Film Festival!! For all of you who were there on the night it was great to meet you and chat, and for all those who didn't you can burn in the eternal pit of Hades as far as I'm concerned… just kidding, geez lighten up guys, for those who couldn't make it do not despair as there WILL be another Far Out Short Film Festival next year where you can submit some more of your great films that I'm sure you will be busy as little B'z working and you can attend that one.
I want to say that all the films submitted were so eclectic and amazing that they really made the night a Far Out experience for everyone who came along, whether a part of the film entrants crew or whether a general film lover (for those who weren't there, the number was over 100).
Unfortunately there could only be one Grand Prize Winner and that was Dewi Djamal for her film “Love”. The judge's award went to Chris Bennett for “Interface” who received a sweet ass Crumpler bag valued at $145. Both these guys did extremely well to be picked from a selection of such cool and interesting films and I can honestly say that there were a number of votes for every single film that we showed.
So now I will return to my pit of despair with Carey Elwes and leave you all alone with a fond goodbye for the moment. You will be hearing from me again soon into next year where I will be asking for submissions once more. In the meantime, keep working on your art and striving for obscureness for that is what separates us from the Monkeys... that and the social nicety of not picking your bum in public.
